Dr. Buitrago is a prosthodontist, which means a dentist with three additional years of specialty training in replacing and restoring teeth. He earned dental degrees from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in 2000 and New York University in 2008. He completed NYU's advanced program in prosthodontics and dental implants. He then finished a three-year prosthodontics residency at New York Hospital Queens, affiliated with Cornell University, and received the Gersten Award.
For a Sunrise patient, that training matters most when a case gets involved. Full-mouth rehabilitation, implant-supported dentures, implant-supported bridges and bone grafting are planned and restored in our office by Dr. Buitrago, not sent across town to another provider. Our on-site dental lab supports that work, so adjustments to crowns, dentures and other restorations can be handled close to the chair. You do not need a referral to see us. When a case calls for coordination with another specialist, Dr. Buitrago handles the treatment planning.
