About Advanced Dentistry

Advanced Dentistry of Coral Springs is a general and restorative dental office for adults and seniors, led by Dr. Renan Buitrago, DDS, a prosthodontist. Picture a patient in her seventies with a partial denture that no longer fits and a back tooth that has started to ache. She wants to know whether she needs a new partial, a crown, or something else entirely, and she would rather not be sent to three different offices to find out. That situation is exactly what our practice was built for. Dr. Buitrago opened our office at 2232 N University Drive, Suite B, in 2014, and he still sees every patient himself.

Most people who call us want to know who will be treating them, and the answer is always the same. Ours is a solo practice. Dr. Buitrago is the only dentist here, so you see the same doctor at your first exam, your cleaning check, and every visit after that. Our hygienists and front office make up the rest of our team, and they work alongside him every day.

Dr. Buitrago is a prosthodontist, which means he is a dentist with three additional years of specialty training in replacing and restoring teeth. He earned dental degrees from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in 2000 and New York University in 2008. He completed NYU's Advanced Study Program in Prosthodontics and Dental Implants, then finished a three-year prosthodontics residency at New York Hospital Queens, affiliated with Cornell University, in 2011. He is also a recipient of the Gersten Award. Three years later, he opened this Coral Springs practice, which he has owned ever since.

A common question is whether a prosthodontist only handles complicated cases. He does not. Day to day, we provide comprehensive and family dentistry for adults, parents, and grandparents. That includes dental exams, cleanings, fillings, composite bonding, root canal therapy, simple and surgical extractions, and gum disease care such as scaling and root planing and periodontal maintenance. We also offer emergency dental appointments when something breaks or starts to hurt.

Where Dr. Buitrago's training matters most is in restoring teeth: crowns, bridges, complete and partial dentures, and repairs or replacements for dentures you already wear. For patients missing one tooth or many, he also provides dental implants, implant-supported bridges and dentures, bone grafting, and full mouth rehabilitation. Because these cases are planned and restored in-house by a specialist, you do not have to be referred out to finish your care. We also have an on-site dental lab, which keeps the work for crowns and dentures close to the person designing them.

What to Expect When You Visit Our Office

New patients often ask what the first appointment involves. We start with a dental exam and a conversation about what brought you in, whether that is a loose denture, a cracked crown, or simply overdue cleanings. Dr. Buitrago explains what he sees and walks through your options in plain language before anything is scheduled.

Here is what patients can expect from us:

  • The same dentist at every appointment, from routine checkups to complex restorations
  • Clear explanations of each option before treatment begins
  • Specialist-level planning for crowns, dentures, partials, and implants under one roof
  • An on-site dental lab for restorative work
  • Oral sedation available for patients who feel anxious about treatment
  • Care in English or Spanish from Dr. Buitrago and our team
  • Emergency appointments when a dental problem cannot wait

You do not need a referral to see Dr. Buitrago. If you are already working with another dentist and want a prosthodontist's opinion on a crown, bridge, or denture plan, you are welcome to schedule directly.

Insurance, Payment, and Planning Ahead

Cost is one of the first things patients ask about, and we try to answer it early. We accept all major PPO insurance plans, and we also welcome self-pay patients. For restorative services, we file insurance claims as a specialist office.

When treatment is spread over several visits or involves more than one tooth, our front office can walk you through payment options. We offer CareCredit, 0% and low-interest financing, and accept all major credit cards. Our goal is to help you understand the plan and the cost before you commit to anything.

Serving Coral Springs and Nearby Communities

Our office is in Coral Springs on North University Drive, and many of our patients live close by. Others travel from Parkland, Coconut Creek, Margate, Tamarac, North Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach, Boca Raton, and Sunrise. Many of them come because they want a prosthodontist involved in their crowns, partials, or dentures, and they prefer one doctor who handles both their everyday care and their restorative work.

That continuity is the heart of our practice. When the dentist who cleans up a cavity is the same one who designed your bridge, small problems are easier to catch and easier to explain. If you have questions about a worn denture, a tooth that needs attention, or simply where to start, our team is glad to help you schedule a visit with Dr. Buitrago.
