A smile makeover is a personalized treatment plan for teens and adults who want their teeth to look better and work well together. It matters in everyday ways. Maybe you cover your mouth when you laugh, avoid photos because of a chipped front tooth, or chew carefully around an old crown that never quite matched. At Advanced Dentistry of Coral Springs, we build one coordinated plan to address those concerns instead of fixing one tooth at a time.
A smile makeover is a combination of treatments chosen for your teeth, your goals, and your oral health. There is no single package. For one patient, the plan might be teeth whitening followed by composite bonding on two worn edges. For another, it might mean porcelain veneers, new crowns, and replacing a missing tooth with a dental implant or bridge. Some plans also include Invisalign to move teeth into better position before cosmetic work begins.
Because the treatments are planned together, the results look consistent. Shade, shape, and proportion are considered across your whole smile, so a new crown does not stand out next to whitened natural teeth. We often see patients in situations like these:
- Discolored or stained teeth that whitening alone may not fully correct
- Chipped, worn, or uneven teeth
- Gaps or mild crowding
- Older fillings, crowns, or bridges that no longer match
- One or more missing teeth affecting appearance and chewing
Your first visit begins with a conversation about what bothers you and what you hope to change. Dr. Renan Buitrago then examines your teeth, gums, and bite, because cosmetic work holds up best on a healthy foundation. If gum disease, decay, or a failing restoration needs attention first, we include that in the plan.
Dr. Buitrago is a prosthodontist, a dentist with three additional years of specialty training in replacing and restoring teeth. He earned his DDS from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in 2000 and New York University in 2008, completed NYU's advanced program in prosthodontics, and finished a three-year prosthodontics residency at New York Hospital Queens, affiliated with Cornell. He is a Gersten Award recipient and has owned this Coral Springs practice since 2014. You see him at every visit, and your plan is designed and restored here in our office, supported by our on-site dental lab.
Am I a good candidate for a smile makeover?
Most teens and adults with healthy gums and a clear idea of what they want to improve are good candidates. The right treatments depend on your starting point. Someone with strong teeth and mild staining may need very little, while someone with worn or missing teeth may need restorative care as part of the plan.
A few things help to know ahead of time. Treatment may take several visits, especially when multiple procedures are involved. Some options, such as veneers and crowns, require reshaping natural tooth structure, and Dr. Buitrago will explain which choices are conservative and which are more involved. If dental visits make you anxious, we offer oral sedation to help you feel more relaxed during treatment.
How do I care for my results after treatment?
Daily brushing, flossing, and regular cleanings are the most important things you can do to protect your results. Veneers, crowns, bonding, and implants all depend on healthy gums and surrounding teeth. Our hygienists will see you for routine cleanings and exams so small issues are caught early.
Some habits deserve extra care. Bonding and whitened teeth can pick up stains from coffee, tea, and red wine, so rinsing after these helps. Avoid biting ice, pens, or fingernails, which can chip restorations. If you grind your teeth, let us know so we can discuss ways to protect your work. Results can last many years with good care, and when a restoration eventually needs attention, we can repair or replace it right here.
How can I pay for a smile makeover?
We accept all major PPO insurance plans and self-pay patients, and we offer flexible financing. Coverage for cosmetic treatment varies by plan, though restorative parts of a makeover, such as crowns or tooth replacement, may qualify for benefits. Our team will review your plan and explain your estimated costs before treatment begins.
For the remaining balance, we accept CareCredit, 0% and low-interest financing options, and all major credit cards. Because a smile makeover can be completed in phases, we can also help you prioritize treatment in an order that suits your budget and timeline.
